ISLAND IN THE SUN

Friday, October 28, 2005 by Frank

After several years of waiting, I’m finally going to Boracay. Sure my ankle is sore (injured it during badminton), never mind that I lack sleep; I’m going to have a good time. Just waiting for Tito to pick me up, and then we’re off! See you when I get back!

SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT

Saturday, October 22, 2005 by Frank

I’m losing my skill of conversation. I’ve had a hard time having decent conversations with friends while out or during chat. This was more evident than ever last night when I was left alone with one.

My mind would go blank at times when I’d try to think of starting a conversation. Sometimes when I’m talked to, I’d simply reply with “cool”; nothing really substantial. Have I run out of things to talk about? Is there nothing else I can say? All this now makes me wonder; have I become boring?

BROKEN BOX

Saturday, October 15, 2005 by Frank

I’m bummed out. My iPod broke. When I turn it on I get the sad iPod icon, then it won’t continue. My PC won’t recognize it either. I’m taking it to Apple today and see if they can fix it. Hopefully they can just do a restore and it will be OK. The biggest bummer is that since I bought the iPod from Rico, there’s no receipt. Without one, no warranty. Bummer.

THE WORLD I KNOW

Friday, October 14, 2005 by Frank

It’s been a while since I last posted here. Mainly because my Net has been total crap! PLDT finally put in my phone line but hasn’t activated my DSL yet, so as of now dial-up it is. Anyway, let me update you on what’s been going on with me since the last time I checked in here.

The past few weeks have been hectic but fun. Nothing compared to last month in terms of hectic, but much more fun. The band has been moving forward, albeit with a few niggles; nothing that couldn’t be resolved with a time out or a simple discussion among the members. The upside is we’ve been a little more productive in song writing. The gigs are still good. I’ve seen a lot of new faces in the crowd. Hopefully they’ll keep coming back. The band will also be going to Boracay at the end of the month for a gig. Coolness! It’s going to be my first time there.

As for gimmicks I’ve been hanging out with mostly the same people (that’s a good thing) with a few additions. I’m still doing the movie rounds, still doing a hell of a lot of food trips (a little too much of Café Med).

I’ve also gotten to rest; mainly a lot of home time. Staying home now feels alien. My interest in Harry Potter has been reignited. This is due in part to the new movie coming out soon, and finding a kindred spirit when it comes to this (hi Monique!). I’ve been messing with my computer a lot too; haven’t done that in ages. My geekiness is starting to shine again. I’ve also been doing a lot of introspection. I’m happier in general.

My friends have also been accomplishing a lot. Debbie (whom I don’t get to hang out with as much anymore) has gotten a job. I’m proud of her. She’ll do great. Monique started working already. It’s an ideal job, it’s paid partying. Ah the perks of working for an alcohol company! Margie has been advancing in her bass playing a lot and has jammed with us on stage. You’ll see her more on stage in the future.

There’s a lot more that has happened in the past few weeks that I haven’t mentioned. Needless to say all is good (except for my DSL! Grrrr!). I hope things stay this course. I’m totally enjoying it.

OLD DAYS

Thursday, October 06, 2005 by Frank

Once again I find myself in the midst of a crowd, and again with friends. In fact at one time the person beside me was extra special; yet I find myself feeling like I don’t belong.

I think it’s a sign that I’m getting old. The techno music is playing; it’s not my thing. I’ve been here with 80’s music playing, and that I could relate to. I knew the lyrics; I knew how to dance it.

Dang! I am old.
