POSITIVE TENSION

Tuesday, June 27, 2006 by Frank

A band is like any relationship, it’s got to be worked on. Some go better than others, some require more attention. Yet being in a band is something I’ve always loved and something I see myself being in for a long time.

Yesterday we’ve cleared the air between the members, and hopefully have set us back on track. A talk was due and couldn’t be avoided. Let’s hope that episode is now over so we can make beautiful music together.

A PAIN THAT I'M USED TO

Friday, June 23, 2006 by Frank

My foot is messed up, or I should say still messed up. That tequila-swimming pool incident some two months ago really got me. I thought it was getting better but two weeks ago I did the stupid thing and walk around Mall of Asia in flip flops. Genius!

I still can’t play badminton. I want to play badly. I still go to the court during games only to umpire or sit on the bench. In between games I sometimes grab a few in-place shots in. No lunging or pivoting. Man it sucks. The few times I can’t help myself, I end up with a sharp pain in the foot.

That’s it then. I’m going to get it x-rayed. Do what has to be done. Hopefully I’ll get back in sporting form soon after.

PLAY THE GAME

Wednesday, June 14, 2006 by Frank

Game on! After waiting for four years, the World Cup has finally started; 32 national teams going after the holy grail of football. Lives will be put on hold, work will be shoved aside, and mucho beer will be consumed. Does the drama tell you I’m a fan?

I used to play football (soccer to all you Americanized folk) some few eons ago. Started playing in grade two and played all the way up till I graduated high school. Unfortunately I haven’t really played since. I really miss playing. I’ve been meaning to buy a ball (just ask Tito how many times I’ve picked up ball up at Adidas and at Nike), just to have one around. Maybe someday I’ll be able to join a friendly game or two. Just see if I can still run around a field for 90 minutes.

For the meantime, I’ll get my fix from this year’s World Cup.

Azzurri all the way!
VIVA ITALIA!
